Rosanna is a suburb and also the official town center of the City of Hume, located in Melbourne’s northeastern suburbs. The name is derived from an Aboriginal word for “place of roses”. It is situated approximately 35 km north of the central business district of Melbourne and is the administrative center of the City of Hume. Rosanna developed after the discovery of gold in 1859 at the Bald Hill Creek. The Post Office opened on 1 September 1862. It is a bayside town in Victoria, Australia. It has a population of approximately 5,500 people. Rosanna has a number of small businesses and is the home of a privately owned primary school and one of Victoria’s oldest state primary schools.
